Kaguyahime (known as “The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter” in english) is a 10th
Century Japanese Folktale about a mysterious girl, Kaguyahime (Princess
Kaguya). Discovered inside a bamboo stalk as a tiny baby she grows up to
become a young women of exceptional beauty. However, the princess is at
times overcome with an unexplained sadness and it soon becomes clear that
she is hiding a secret.
“Kaguyahime” is considered to be the oldest known Japanese narrative.

Thanks so much everyone! Been away traveling Japan for new inspiration, thus the slackness in uploading new works, really appreciate the comments. It’s helped with the ‘reverse culture shock’ process (again). I have a bunch of new images in my head just itching to get out so ‘watch this space’!
