Slater Terrace is an unusual terrace of houses built over a warehouse for workers in the cotton industry. They were built in 1848-50 for George Slater and are now grade 2 listed. The two end houses were converted into an engine boilerhouse.They form part of the area now known as Weavers’ Triangle which is currently undergoing regeneration. The queen visited this area as part of her jubilee year tours. prince charles also gas an interest in this histortic area.
