Luxury apartments alongside the Rochdale canal in Manchester city centre. A lovely position close to shops, offices, nightlife and transport links. This is in the Petersfield area very close to the Bridgewater Hall, Deansgate and Oxford Road. It’s also just along the canal from Canal street in the gay village. Black and white grainy film effect.
Canon7D with Canon 10-22mm wide angle lens. HDR from single RAW tonemapped in photomatix pro. Converted to Black and white with cs4 and nik silver effex pro.

Almost retired, and a photography addict! I own a canon 7D and 5 canon lenses. I love playing in photoshop! I’m a fan of HDR if it isn’t too overdone.I also dabble in fractal art occasionally.

Your treatment made it look so beautiful and slightly funky with the texture and crooked cobblestones.

  • Thanks Betty, it’s an interesting place, but expensive!

Simply stellar, Sandra! The reflection is gorgeous and the buildings look so surreal and beautiful!

  • Thanks karen. The buildings are slightly curved too, quite nice modern architecture which blends in well with the old warehouses.

Certainly changed since I first used this canal – a few decades back

  • Yes, I bet! I must look on the net to see if i can find some old pics of the area. I found an old photo of one of the areas on the canal in Blackburn, all surrounded by mills and chimneys!
