Artist's Description

Mallards lined up and having a splashing time at the edge of the weir on the River Calder,Lancashire Uk.
The weir is thought to date back to the founding of Whalley Abbey in 1380. From 1840, it was used to power a water wheel at Abbey Corn Mills. It is an important part of Whalley’s cultural and architectural heritage.
