I think you will find that Redbubble policy follows that of international copyright law, as it is an international website. They will not take kindly to having copyright protected images that are not the original work of the artist posting the work and if advised accordingly they will remove them as otherwise they could be held liable for breaching copyright law if they permitted them to stay on here.

Check out the copyright link right down at the bottom of this page.

    The “rules” are:

    1. If someone does do it – then it is up to the original artist or copyright owner to send the person a decease and remove notification, commonly known as the “DMCA Process”
    2. RedBubble no longer handle reports of copyright violations. That facility was removed from RedBubble a while ago… the responsibility rests completely with the original artist / copyright owner.
    3. So long as RedBubble adheres to requirements of the “Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act (”OCILLA") then RedBubble is indemnified against the actions of its members. This is called "Safe Harbour.
    4. Do NOT write about that person’s actions in a journal or any other “public” space within RedBubble – the consequence could be your own suspension from this site… RedBubble does not allow “naming & shaming”.

At the end of the day… just ignore it. Its not your problem, and there is nothing for us to do about it – unless you want to track down the original artist or copyright owner and let them know.

    A clarification…

Where I wrote “■RedBubble no longer handle reports of copyright violations.” …. should have read "■RedBubble no longer handle reports [from RB Members] concerning copyright violations.

“RedBubble no longer handle reports [from RB Members] concerning copyright violations.”

Unless the member is violating the copyright of another member and the member files a DMCA complaint.

If you know it’s a copy, you have probably seen the work elsewhere and you have probably triple checked the RB copy with the other site. Why don’t you get in touch with the original artist and let them know what ’s going on and most importantly what they can do to remedy the situation.
good luck and I hope the original artist comes out on top.
