Not all members of the community
Are aware that they can anytime
Call psychiatric services
On a person who
Has a history of attempted suicide.
The public probably wish
They could call that needle sticking team
On the sleazy man in the bar,
The angry neighbour who yells,
The junkie who says ‘Fuck off’,
The beggar who asks for change,
The boss who tells them they’re fired,
And the stranger who disses them.
Well only if the person
Has had a psychiatric history.
Let’s just say with current laws
I’m not even allowed to defend myself.
Hey, someone might dob me in
If I don’t lick their boot, get it?
Is that the community?
Well, it’s some of them.
Let’s just say I really love Melbourne
And most especially its people.
It’s just that the vast majority
Are very unaware
Swallow up the propaganda
Of pharmaceutical funded guides.
And laws that inhibit the press
From ever telling our side.
Their freedom of expression
Is restricted by a guide
That says they must be responsible
And human rights
Do have to die
In order to respect
The rights and reputations
Of the psychiatric lies.
National security could be at risk,
Public order might collide
The Health act is like the protection act
It’s there to enforce
The morals of the psychiatrists
Who hate the artist’s voice.
