How did you manage to keep the color and contrast in tact?

  • Color and contrast, I shoot at the best time of day ;-) Thanks!

Great image Inge. Great town, isn’t it? Hopefully you were able to dine at La Mangiotta (??)

  • Thanks Gary. Yes, it is a nice little town even if some of the buildings aren’t quite as ancient as they seem. I did not eat at that restaurant, where in SG is it? Our favorite restaurant there was Dulcis in Fundo.

We stayed at an extremely nice agritourismo outside town (Il Vecchio Maneggio) and had a couple of fantastic 7 course dinners there. Wonderful!

  • You probably meant La Mangiatoia? I found it on TripAdvisor. Looks pretty good.

That’s the one :) We had a great time and dinner there.

  • I can’t wait to go back to Italy again. I just love the views, the food, the wine, the espresso, the gelato, aaaah

An inviting open door to enjoy the beauty. Very well captured.
    Gosh… I read your above reply and… sono totalmente d’accordo ;-)

  • Thank you so much. I do try to cook Italian food at home, and have an espresso machine and coffee roaster, so I can at least reminisce about the food, until I can book my next trip to Toscana :-)

Today 15th August is Ferragosto / Santa Maria Day, National holiday in Italy.
At lunch we have eaten grilled fish, soup of fish and sipped a cold good Tuscan white wine (Vermentino), typical cake, gelato and caffé espresso of course ;-) Una bella mangiata.
A sunshine day too. Take care,
    Cristina

  • Yummy :-)
