well i saw him coming on his bike , he had only one eye that other one was a glass ? one, he was riding very fast, suddenly he stopped, put ‘up’ his bike, starting yelling and people started to bring their knifes to sharpen….Risjikesh, India

Memories! Memories! I remember such people (knife sharpeners, rag-and-bone men, milkmen, greengrocers, coming through our street, the Bockenbergstraat, in Gouda, when I was little.
Here (in Sydney) it was only the dunny-man and we hardly ever saw him. (There were other ways of knowing he was around!)
