IF
Rain
September 08th 2005
If I were you and you were me
Would we be the same us that others see?
If eagles were buzzards and buzzards were eagles
Would the eagle disgust, while the buzzard soared high?
If You were the cover and I was the book
Would you know what was written on it’s pages?
If the sun were rain and rain was the sun
Would we then jump in great big sun-puddles?
And if I was your heart and you were my eyes
Would you cry every time it’s been broken?
This may seem like jumbled up nonsense to you
But would it be that odd? Could it be so strange?
If you thought with your soul and drifted on dreams
And wisdom came in a cereal box?!?

Well….............you may have understood…............maybe not…...................Great poem though, I think we all need to do a little of “If in your shoes” perspective from time to time.

Rany – if I were you and you were me..I wouldn’t be working today and I would like me! Coarse, if I were you and you were me – I’d like you too because of you would be working so all the beer drinkers could indulge! did that make sense??

a ceral box?! sometimes i have wondered if people get their driver’s licence from a cereal box LOL
I really liked the reversed image/subject them you have running throughout this piece.
It’s so symbiotic…..almost the ‘other half’ or ‘twin soul’ thoery in play…...you know a bit like:
If You are the sun
And I am the Moon
If You are the words
And I am the Tune
Then Play me.”....oops another poem coming along…..
