I haven’t been on RedBubble for as long as most of you, still pretty much a newby by any standards but I’ve been on many photography communities.
Each and every one of them has had something wonderful about the site, that I absolutely loved.
This one has a beautiful sense of community and when I first got here I was welcomed with open arms. I’ve been commenting all over the place, faving some photos and just commenting on others, exploring deeper and deeper into the site.
I’ve seen many amazing ideas coming together, some started being in the works to make the ideas a reality. The forum looks amazing, featuring people and journals and photos/illustrations etc give exposure. Ideas I would LOVE to see some day are……Threaded replies, rss feeds to keep up, I saw someone mention an insite e-mail system, international buying is now available and still waiting for international selling……All these ideas (and Im sure some I missed) are amazing!! We are all excited about something that is coming up.
However, in my humble opinion, I think we are asking an awful lot from the RedBubble team, they are working so hard to make all our wishes come true that there isn’t much time to fix the problems that are here already.
I have several people on my watchlist that never see any of my additions in their Activity Monitor and I never see theirs. I have a very few that show up and despite trying to constantly check their sites, I always seem to fall short. None of my photos are showing up in the gallery. These are the things that should get fixed first. We can’t possibly be a community if we can’t see what is going on with our contacts.
I know the team is working very hard on every little problem or idea we all come up with, they are amazing!! I just feel the problems at hand should be addressed before anything new is added. After all this site is going to blow up bigger and bigger by the day….the more things added, the more difficult it will be to find time to fix the old problems.
I think we should give the RB team a HUGE round of applause for all they have accomplished and support them in the time it takes to get things done and working.
