This image has come to mean a lot to me since I first posted it. When I was making it, I was simply merging a bunch of elements that I really enjoy – nature, juxtaposing seasons, a captivating background, interesting model poses, realistic water, and using a monochromatic blue colour scheme.

But I guess subconsciously, I was creating an outward projection of how I feel about a very passionate issue with which I am currently faced…

Due to resolution issues, the deer had to be photo-painted into the image.

Water effect created using a displacement map in PS.

This is an amazing picture. I feel a warmth in the foreground, and a coldness in the background, which is somehow tempered by the presence of the deer. I live in an area that experiences extreme cold in the winter. There is a special feeling of coming in from the cold to a nice warm house. Somehow, this picture seems to capture something about that feeling.
