How to Make Friends in Redbubble

It’s easy to make friends in Redbubble. I’m still learning the site and all the options it has to offer, so I tried clicking “Community” – the page that loaded listed all the latest events, uploading, commenting, favoriting, etc. You can see who other people have found, who is in the system and generally, what is going on. So, a few clicks into the latest people lead to these charming works of art by Tabita:”http://www.redbubble.com/people/tabita” which really appealed to me:

Socks
Hanging from a swing

There was something sweet and charming about the rough sketches, the playful motifs, the way the colors were filled in. I didn’t know if they were great works of art, but I liked them. And wouldn’t it be a nice feeling for the artist to know that someone stumbled upon and liked one of her works? I believe you should always share the good impressions you have with others.

So I shared my impressions. A few clicks later we are watching each other, and then, a short time later, I received a completely unexpected surprise. You can read the rest of the story here: Playing chess in the grass.

Tabita, thank you again! I’m happy I ran into your pages.

yeah, I just noticed the banner earlier that said I had some “bubblemail”! Ha! still learning myself. I must say tho, you are not lost with your creativity. Thanks for sharing your work, which involves giving credit to others. Very admirable and worthy of great respect.

Thank you so much for your comment and the kind words. It seems to me there are wonderful chances in Redbubble to get the most of community – whereas you would need weeks and months to reach as many people these days via a personal blog or website.

    Both of you wonderful!
This is what I posted under Tabitha’s picture
Tabitha you draw exquisitely and Indeterminancy you wrote the story that came to my mind but with a much better twist I loved it!
Will you two please put these together for sale? I would love to buy a copy – I teach and it would be excellent as an inspirational piece in a teenagers otherwise Boring English class. Perhaps other teachers would use it as well!
    Thank you ~ adg

Thank you for your overwhelming comment! I agree that Tabitha’s drawings are wonderful. I think they are available for sale? It’s not possible to sell writing in Redbubble. My pieces cost $1,000,000 or one nice compliment. If you like the text, please feel free to copy it as you wish. :-) You might enjoy this other piece, which was a collaboration with an artist at Deviantart.

It’s better than roaming about in real galleries – you see so much more and it seems to be such a real artist colony I love it! and I feel so privileged to be considered a member!

What a great story. I should comment on people’s art & writing more. There is so much beautiful work on this site. I don’t know; sometimes all I can think of to say is, “I like this,” and that doesn’t seem like it would be very interesting or helpful. Then again, I really I love it when people tell me they like my writing, so maybe I’ll try it. I think Tabita’s picture is beautiful and your story is beautiful too. I like them. :)
