My IRL alter ego is working on a project that extends Museum of Dust into the community software sector.
She has real money to pay a real PHP head to customise and build extension modules for a white-label social software PHP core. Someone who can also write kickarse CSSs would be super ideal… otherwise also seeking a web designer who can do the same. Very happy to negotiate timeframes, etc.
If you can recommend anyone… or are the person above… PLEASE bubblemail me.

No idea what you’re talking about but I’m very good at writing words, on paper, with a biro, if that’s ever useful. Although most of them are sweary.
Good luck though.
(How fucking pointless is this comment?)

i couldnt say i was a PHP head.. or a whizz in any of it.. but i am good a Joomla, Wordpress, and most of the free/open source Php CMS (content managment around) and have built quite a few sites using it.. eg: Ozdoof | Psytrips
Im all self taught and seem to have the knack for picking up things fast and best friends with Google (im not scared to jump in and ask./find out what i need to know online etc) Ive got my resume thang online if you want to have a look HERE

Thanks so much for your quick answers to this search.

- perhaps we’ll meet up at the Joomla Melbourne day tomorrow (I suspect there won’t be many women there;) and can talk then. However, we’re really looking for some high-level skills at sns customisation… we’re checking joomla out because it seems to have a good local dev comm around it… but will probably go with a more white-label sns product.Helen, whereabouts are you and your husband based? We are optimally looking for someone in Melbourne to work closely with.

- we’re pretty set for sweary bits thanks… but will keep in mind.I suspect yr right—I think we probably have a similar skill set ;-P but am looking for someone who has had experience skinning cms/sns projects because I think it may be a more gnarly problem than I can deal with.Firedrake -

Hey neither did I until a couple of weeks a go (I thought dupal was it…), amazing what a bit of concentrated web time can teach you …. I haven’t worked a developer for a while (okay 5 years) and it’s amazing how much the entire environment has changed….

Hi Incognita,
I’m actually based in Adelaide, however most of the projects I work on I collaborate remotely, either via voice/video conference or desktop sharing applications so I can actually see your screen as you’re talking about things you want.
Regards,
Helen’s Husband (Ashley)

Ashley > sorry for the delay in reply (still waiting on hearing from our funding partner whether we can employ interstate) > but would be very interested in discussing with you > could you bubblemail me your email or skype address so we can talk?
webgrrl > know exactly how you feel! (both my business partner and I have kids > hers are still little). You probably didn’t miss anything with the JDay, it was probably a bit entry-level for you > we only stayed for 1/2 to get a feel of the community etc and an overview of joomla (which looks great but probably not what we’re after). We’re still looking because we need someone who both has high-level php skills and a real understanding of developing SNS features and can think outside the cms-design constraints box…
