Paul and Mary resting under the lime tree by

Photo of my clay dolls. The special thing about this doll pair is that their hands are modeled in a way that they are bound together. You cannot separate the two dolls from another, except if you undo the knot.
Clay, acrylics, inks, oil painting, patina, varnish.
These are the characters of my little book Mary and Paul Paul and Mary which I decided to create as actual dolls after I finished the painting series.

    now that’s how it works!!!
i saw the joint hands in the paper box and thought one of them would be in a pleading position.
haha. this is a lovely surprise. i love these dolls. they have lots of personality, even when dissembled.

    find me a “PAul”
and I promise I will call myself “Mary” !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There is a Paul for each Mary. It’s just sometimes difficult to find him. Then even if you find him, it’s difficult to recognize him. And even if you recognize him, you might not be ready to embrace him. I wish you to find your Paul :)
