Dedicated to my beautiful new-born niece, Daphne.
Ink on paper.
Daphne (Greek: Δάφνη) means “laurel”.
According to Greek mythology, the god Apollo loved the nymph Daphne. He chased her until she grew exhausted. Daphne cried out to to her mother, the goddess Gaia, for help and was transformed into a laurel tree (Daphnê). Apollo made himself a wreath of the boughs of the laurel tree.
