Creativity (with Johdie Lee and Tazzae)
one last thing before i start packing :) Recently Johdie and tazzae were kind enough to answer some questions on their creativity :) and here are there answers. If anyone else wants to answer these, then ask others, feel free to!
How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life?
I can’t concentrate on real life, I think about art almost constantly. Perhaps I shouldn’t drive..
If I wasn’t creative.. I think my life would be very boring. When I was fourteen I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue, I spent so much time away from the world.. all I could do was draw. I became obsessively creative (not in a crazy way) and art stopped feeling like a hobby; it was something that defined me. I’m quite a shy person and have always been just a little bit weird. I don’t say much but I think I express myself through my art and it seems to help people connect with me.
It’s nice to be known for something and for people to be proud of me, despite not even being able to finish school. I can’t believe I wanted to be some sort of medical professional, or something dumb like that.. art is so much more fun. I think paint looks better on me than a white coat ever could.

There’s not really one particular moment, but RedBubble is certainly an encouraging environment. It’s good to know it’s not just my grandmother that likes my work. Everytime I sell a t-shirt it’s a surprise.. people actually want to walk around in something I’ve made? I was just happy to find a place to easily try my hand at design. Of course I was over the moon when the “In The Moment” publication came out and I had a piece in it, but even more so when a few people picked it out and said it was one of their favourites. I think I may actually consider myself an “artist” these days with a little help from everyone here.

Creativity is a part of my soul. It acts as a guide, pushing me to look at things differently – not just in art. It is always such an amazing feeling to know that you’ve had some sort of a break through or new idea which you can then use to help extend you as a person.

I always find it fantastic to see artists grow and develop their ideas and skills. I love to look back to the beginning of someone’s profile and watch the gradual changes in their work as they go through life. One particular artist I think of is Catherine Doherty who started off with a multitude of pictures, experimenting in her photography. As you go through her profile, you can see her refining her skills up to the present day where she shows spectacular shots and water images.
