This is a drawing loosely based on a cortical pyramidal neuron. This cell is sad, and tired right to the spines on the branches of her feathery dendritic arbour.
I’m a neuroscientist by day, and an insomniac artist by night. Biology under my microscope inspires me to make art – on public transport, in between experiments, and late at night. I’m interested in the overlap between scientific concepts, biological images, and surreal art from our imaginations. I get an urge to blur the lines between these things.
