Shadow of a wound
wound, black and blue
blue as an old song
song of childhood
childhood of ashes
ashes of grandpa’s cigarette
cigarette dreams, cigarette lies
lies, black and red
red as the morning
morning of a new day
day of bright ribbons
ribbons dancing in my hand
hand like a broken wing
wing of a shadow.

This poem was played as much as written. Another delightful collaboration with Magali

Ah so Magali is getting all the words. You should have your turn too! Don’t forget to sleep… back and forth. Now you are in deep. Keep at it… it’s good!
Thank you Denis, for coming here to keep me company! The party is definitely on the other side of the ocean, but I’ve been slipping over there and eavesdropping on the conversation!!!
I’m so happy that this game of ours has something to give.
And yes, sleep is good!

I love this! This is so well woven, I could almost see the circle swirling in front of my eyes as I read. Wonderful work.
It makes me so happy to know our poem has this quality for you. Thank you so much for reading it.

damn i hate being able to see all these connotations it drives me crazy miss daisy.
OK, this reminds me a lot of the associative processes that go on in my head. ex-ivy as in ex-ivy league? or an ex girlfriend called ivy, or the place on the wall where ivy used to grow until the new gardener got overzealous with the shears…?
Do you read Hebrew? I’d love to – I have an itch for languages….

ex-ivy? all of htem;)
i know the hebrew alphabet and what each of hte letters mean and the numerical values of each letter and how htey relate to hte major arcana in the tarot and a french dice game called bidou;)
hte jews believed that everything could be explained by the twenty two letters of their alphabet
