Schladming Downtown – the foot of the mountain “Planai” in the background.
A small pleasant town, with no life in the afternoon, this is changing dramatically, when various ski tourists come down from the mountain late in the afternoon.
Like most Austrian cities, a good atmosphere, good food and last but not least, a lot of good beer for after skiing.
A visit here can only be recommended in both summer and winter.
Schladming with its approx. 6000 inhabitants is located in approx. 2240 Ft. height – but we lived further up the hill for approx. 3600 Ft. height, which gave us direct access to the slopes from the hotel, this allowed us to take a lift up in the terrain or to travel on skis directly down to the town where we again had the opportunity to go to other mountains.
