Why should someone like me, Welsh but living in england be lost for the right words to explain how utterly delighted I am that Karadzic has finally been captured?
Because the women in the few pictures of refugees in my postings are Muslim and lost their husbands, sons, fathers, brothers, almost all their male relatives close and distant in the Srebrenica Massacre during the war in the Balkans.
I cried with them in their camps as they related the details of the butchering which was done to those they loved. I cried with them as they related how they, their daughters and in some cases even their young sons were raped many several times.
Yes, even after ten years I can still hear their voices trying to explain it through a translator and when I think back I still fill up.
I took several hundred pictures which went into the press in the UK, exhibitions and on posters to make people aware of what was going on and help to build an aid network for them.
The people of Serbia deserve a great deal of thanks for capturing karadzic and they should be welcomed as praised.
Next we hope will be the news that the other butcher ratko mladic is given up to justice.
