Still Life with Pheasants and Corn by

No birds were harmed in the making of this image. While at a nursury/antique place in Washington I came accross these two pheasants. I immediately snapped the picture and was then told I could not take pictues. Luckily I had already done so…..as for a long time I wanted to create a ‘classic’ image of pheasants and corn in a still life. The corn I had snapped some years ago. All images are my own.

I have been creating fusion photography for over 10 years and have been in numerous shows and galleries. My training includes courses in Digital Art and fine art. I continually work to improve my art and the craft of photography.

    Beautiful !!

  • Thanks Virginian…..I am surprised at the anemic response this image has gotten so far. So I definately appreciate your comment. This one took me a long, long time to develop from the multiple elements…..

Well, I know how much work these are with multiple layers. I think you did an incredible job with this. All the elements work together to make for a warm image with outstanding color tones and textures. A fave for me.

  • Thanks Karen. This one particularly. There isn’t one element except the table that was initially in the image.

Historically beautiful picture. It brings to mind the fare of yesteryear!

  • Yes, I did some research on pheasants and oils. However there were precious few. Even less so in the post modern era. But I think the coloring of these birds is fantastic and just had to use them in an image. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Excellent work Jeff!! Such striking colors!! :)
Pheasants used to be so prevalent in my area as a child. They made such a distinctive warbling noise when a group were startled and took flight!!
I can’t remember now the last time I saw one in the wild!! Such a shame!!
