A McDonalds establishment is set to be built in the beautiful hills community of Tecoma in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne. The communities voice was vocal when news of their proposal first reared it’s ugly head- it went to a council vote to which it was voted down unanimously- the community said NOI! The council chambers were overflowing with residents, a sight which had never been seen before.
McDonalds then went to VCAT (VIctorian Civil Administrative Tribunal). After weeks of listening to both party’s the unthinkable happened- they were granted permission to develop.
The Dandenong ranges have remained largely untouched by the hand of greedy fast food corporations…until now.
The community has risen once again and, even though all seems lost, they are prepared to continue on with the struggle.
Please support our cause by signing a petition here and here and share our plight with all your socially networked friends…please.
