The principal problem with a photo like this – and there is a problem – is that it is so over the top in terms of sheer beauty, content, technique, vision, subtle choices (like the mountains in the background which contribute perfectly, in that they don’t compete with the main focus of attention), so many, many elements present which warrant attention and comment – the problem is that it receives such a large audience of intensely enthusiastic viewers so moved they too feel compelled to comment, that it takes forever to scroll from the image at the top all, all the way down through the long list of well-deserved accolades to the ‘add comment’ box, one can’t quickly go back and forth between the image and the comment one is writing. ‘Tis a problem to be devoutly to be wished for (Hamlet?). I think, coming in with my comment so late, the points I was going to make have been made by others, rendering my ‘contribution’ (if it can be called that) redundant. I can only echo the sentiments expressed above, without adding anything original. But, in thinking about it, even if I were the first to comment, this moving, inspiring, gorgeous photo leaves me almost (if not entirely) speechless. Such beauty. In the shot, and in the mind, soul, and heart of the artist who captured it. I am mesmerized by it. A Tour d’ Force.

Top notch! Would love to have been there with you. Every time I see someone walking on a sand dune, I think back to some folks with whom we were scuba diving who took off fins and dive boots and “ran” underwater when they ran into a silky sand-dune underwater… they’ve always been magic ever since!
