I so LMAO when I saw this…several of these tiny little Chipping Sparrows were standing on my window sill…there is no screen on this particular window…I managed to get a pic before they flew away…this was the result…he doesn’t look too happy with me for taking his picture does he?…poor baby…I put some bird seed on the window sill and threw some out on the grass hoping they would return…I even lifted the blinds so as to get a better shot…but it began raining harder afterwards…they found the bird seed on the front porch I think…more pics of them coming up…it is an icy cold day in TX…32 degrees and about 3/4 inches of ice on the trees…brrrr…baby it’s cold outside!!!
The Chipping Sparrow is one of the smallest sparrows. It is widespread, fairly tame, and common across most of its North American range. A common small sparrow of yards, gardens, and forest openings, the Chipping Sparrow is probably best known for its dry, trilling song. It commonly nests in ornamental evergreens.
This one is definitely better viewed larger
