I so LMAO when I saw this…several of these tiny little Chipping Sparrows were standing on my window sill…there is no screen on this particular window…I managed to get a pic before they flew away…this was the result…he doesn’t look too happy with me for taking his picture does he?...poor baby…I put some bird seed on the window sill and threw some out on the grass hoping they would return…I even lifted the blinds so as to get a better shot…but it began raining harder afterwards…they found the bird seed on the front porch I think…more pics of them coming up…it is an icy cold day in TX…32 degrees and about 3/4 inches of ice on the trees…brrrr…baby it’s cold outside!!!
The Chipping Sparrow is one of the smallest sparrows. It is widespread, fairly tame, and common across most of its North American range. A common small sparrow of yards, gardens, and forest openings, the Chipping Sparrow is probably best known for its dry, trilling song. It commonly nests in ornamental evergreens.

great shot glenna, poor little guy.. yesterday i went photographing eight am,
and it was cold here. thirty degrees. everything was frosted.man that cold for calif near the bay area.. i even try to sit on a wooden bench.. thinking the sun thoud out the frost..
there was still frost on the bench at ten.. man i sat on it burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

This is wonderful. To start with, it’s a great capture; and secondly, he not only looks very cold (being all fluffed up to combat it), but, he looks thoroughly p*ssed off at being out in such freezing weather. Congratulations on the Home Page Feature, it’s very well deserved.

Wow…thank you so much for the awesome comments…so that’s why they are all fluffed up like that..their way of combating the cold…he did look totally PO’d at me didn’t he…I was actually oohing and awing over how cute they all were sitting out on the ledge…I grabbed the camera just in time before they all flew away…I put birdseed out on the ledge…but the rain came down harder and they went for the bird seen on the covered front porch instead…the Homepage feature was a complete and unexpected shock but a very welcome one…I am so thrilled and overjoyed!
