I would change
Smart to dumb
Unique to conformity
Loud to quiet
Independent to dependent
Myself for you.

I was hesitant about this piece, not seeing enough originality or spark…
Until I got to the last verse.
And realised the whole thing was a buildup to that punch. =)

None of it seems particularly important until suddenly the changes are all negative…
I’ve changed myself completely before, in an attempt to get someone to like me, and it’s only now that I realise what a mistake it was…

We all do it.
Change to make people like us.
Sometimes it’s sudden, sometimes it’s on purpose, or sometimes we don’t even notice ourselves until it’s too late.
The hard part is knowing who we’re meant to be, and who we truly are.

wow. yeah. I believe that everyone we meet/see/talk to changes us in some way. So really. we’re a product of the influences of everyone around us.
(sorry if that didn’t make sense. I’m trying to find a Chuck Palahniuk quote that says what I’m trying to convey… but I misplaced it, and I forgot it :( )

Yeah I think we are changed even ever so slightly by every person we meet, but when you start to change FOR them, then is that actually a very healthy relstionship?

Yeah. Probably not. That’s kinda what I was trying to say… but i kinda failed.
We are all accidentally changed by everyone around us, but it’s sad when we change ourselves on purpose to try and please someone else. And you got that through well with your poem, so well done :)
