Enrico mentana is an Italian jornalist. He’s really famous in Italy but lately his name has bee associated with Eluana Englaro. You probably know her stiry: she died a month ago after 17 years of coma. Her death was decided by a legal court . Mentana has became more famous because when she died it was 8 PM, Primetime. Mentana requested to the Network (property of Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian premier) to go live and talk about the death of the woman. The Network refused because that evening there was “The Big Brother”. Now Mentana is known as a hero of the right of information against the useles entartainment. I don’t believe we should take TV characters as moral symbols. I believe that this kind of journalism feeds itself with the tragedies of real people, like jackals.
