The outfits are influenced by the costume designs of Leon Bakst with a touch of Paul Poiret. I made the patterns from Arabian, Turkish and William Morris designs.

Ivy, I have had you in my watchlist for a really long time… but I don’t remember seeing this come through my list… I hang on seeing your work…
The reason I think that things are swaying is because people just walk away… I guess I fight hard to maintain but there have been so many new people here who didn’t get it… so people just took off instead of sticking around and proving the goodness here…
The art I like has gotten easier from groups… but I implore you to try not to be too disheartened… I am a big fan of your incredible imagination and always have been… perhaps you and I could work together in dark arts to find a better balance… I am just watching the gallery grow at the moment but I have a lot of ideas to address just what you are talking about… perhaps I should bmail you?

Ivy, the detail in this is just awe inspiring. Your work continues to amaze me. I love the dog especially :)

now… to comment in the way I always have and history is there to back me up…
what I love about all your work most is the beautiful skin tones you find and your seeming love of expressive eyebrows… the detail in your faces always takes my breath away…
the piece here is so rich a lush of colour it takes me there and I love that colour green so thats a natural aesthetically nice thing… but your sleeping children are so serene yet also… all of these characters seem in an uneasy sleep, like it has been forced on them… a kingdom (or shiekdom) hit with a sudden and terrible sleeping spell by and alchemist with a falcon… perhaps… my mind has wanted to find the story… always good…

Beautiful art piece.

Fantastic. I’d call this actual Mughal art. It’s so reminiscent of it that it… is it. Other than the few modern embellishments (cat, dog). Tell me what inspired you?
It takes me back to walking in Laal Qilla (Red Fort), Old Delhi and viewing the Mughal art.

In this case my direct inspiration was the designs of Léon Bakst but I’ve always loved illuminated manuscripts and islamic miniatures and I think that shows in a lot of my work.
