rapeseed field by moonlight

the crop in the foreground was illuminated by a setting cresent moon, i thought i had found a dark part of oxfordshire but there is still tons of light pollution. This was shot at around midnight.

It’s a great picture with the moonlight, star trails and the light pollution. Strange combination to find in the middle of the night. Perhaps the light pollution was a bother, but the result is great!

You’re right, there’s a lot of light around for midnight but what a wonderful shot – I love the time exposure of the sky and the yellow field. Well done.

Excellent long exposure, the light polution in the distance makes the image in my opinion. Wonderful startrails and superb foreground interest. Well done.

cheers mate, it was a lucky one off shot, i wonderd if after an hour or so exposure the colour of the rapeseed would come through…i think i swore when i saw the result, i was really suprised.
