Hi, my name is Nathan Beach, and I like taking pictures. I’m a single white male, located in Western New York along the balmy shores of Lake Ontario

Ok… this is starting to sound like a 12 step program.

Anyway…

I’ve been taking pictures for years. My first camera was a Kodak Disc. Eventually I worked my way up to a Nikon N2000 SLR. Loved that camera and still use it. I had a Nikon N4004, but didn’t like it and gave it to someone that could use it.

For the longest time, I shot a lot of film. Some good, some bad. But as the cost of film and development went up, I discovered that I wasn’t taking a lot chances in the composition or subject matter. So, a few years ago I got a Canon A95. My first steps into the digital age. Not the best, but it has gotten me to be creative again. I can shoot what I like and not worry if it turns out bad. I do hope to step up to a DSLR soon.

All my pictures are pretty much as is. I have done some very minor editing, but I want to showcase what I see, as I see it.

Proceeds from the sale of my work goes to help Dustin Watchman and the Volunthai Charity. Some people might know Dustin from being on the show Lost, but more recently he is volunteering with local schools in northeast Thailand. What else?

I have a degree in GeoChemistry and get paid to play with chemicals all day. Well, maybe not play… it seems the higher up in management I go, the less chemistry I do and the more paperwork I have. For the geeks out there, I work with GC/MSs.

During the winter, I’ll either hit a trail or spend my free time at live theatre. During the warmer weather, I add in a little road cycling. I’m trying to fight middle age (or at least prolong my childhood as long as possible).

I’ve been to 19 states and Washington DC. My goal is get to all 50 states as soon as possible. I’m always up for a trip someplace. Anyone want to go?
