I went for a stroll in the Sahara sand dunesof Erg Chebbi out from the tiny village of Hassi Labied and away from the commercialism of Merzouga. My timing was late afternoon to get good shadows in the sand dunes. Suddenly a line of camels, without any sign of people, appeared – what luck! But then… lots of sliding and scampering about the sand dunes to get a good position.

My photographic interests cover amongst other things landscape (rural and urban), travel and cultural. I’ve been taking photos for more years than I would like to admit.

Great piece of work Ian and you and your camera have combined well to produce an amazing image out of virtually nothing. Very well done indeed.

Excellent light on the dunes Ian. What a stroke of luck having the camels appear, good timing mate !! I drove through Morocco in 1975 would you believe and wish I had the gear I now have.
