Cool photo Ian. I like the splashing water. How did you get that angle ? Looks like you’re about to get run/swum over.

  • Thanks a lot Michael. I was standing on a sandbank in front and just to the side of the swimmers. Had a backpack with other lenses etc and was trying to avoid being splashed by them as well as watching for larger waves. All a bit hairy !!

Making me go Brrrr just looking at this, love the spray as they all dash in ready for their Ocean swim what a event to watch.

  • Hi Karen. Thanks for a great comment. Friday was the hottest day on record here in Sydney reaching 46 deg C. This was taken on Sunday (yesterday here) and the temp was in the low 20s, quite a change eh ?? It was only cool as we were in the water and wet to the waist with a good breeze blowing. All part of the fun trying to get different angles. Cheers Ian

  • Thanks for the great comment Cliff. They look like great events and unfortunately swimming is not my bag.

Congratulations on your well-deserved Zinger feature! Looks like you are going to get bowled over Ian.

  • Thanks a lot Christina, it’s a fine line to get close enough in and not get bowled over and at the same time trying to keep the lens from getting splashed :))
