Sydney Botanic Gardens - Pyramid House by

This is the Tropical Pyramid Glasshouse in the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney Australia. The gardens are in the CBD and the pyramid house seems to make sense being among the glass buildings nearby. I took this image as part of an entry into an Australia wide competition for Botanic Gardens images. Alas, no cigar for this one but I like it.

Taken in Spring with Jacaranda petals in the foreground.

This looks like a fantastic place to visit. The pyramid is amazing alongside the other buildings I see in the background. Maybe you got no cigar but I like it too!! You never know about those competitions. The next time you might be lighting that cigar!

  • HI Carol. Yes it is fantastic and so accessible being right in the City. The tropical house has some wonderful plants, orchids, crotons and Nepenthes (tropical pitcher plants) to name but a few. Every so often the misters come on in the warmer months so you have to be careful to protect the lens. Thanks so much and glad you like it !!

This is great with the city buildings behind. I must go visit this place soon. A good time of year to wander around the city.

  • Thanks again Jodie, go early when the sun is low as the light is perfect then and from the right direction !!
