One Mile Dinner Camp Tree - Kimberley WA by

Derby Western Australia
Years ago, the large boab tree provided a great spot for stockmen to stop with their cattle and eat a meal before their last mile to the jetty.
Dianne and I visited this often photographed tree with Mieke Boynton and her incredibly loyal and adoring dog Mr Banjo who grabbed a bit of attention in this shot. All the time his eyes are fixed firmly on Mieke. Banjo and Mieke made us feel very welcome !! Mieke has photographed this tree often and has some fabulous shots of this impressive tree.

OMG, look at all those leaves! I haven’t seen it in leaf….It truly is a grand old tree, isn’t it? Nice to see Banjo too. :D

  • Thanks Mel. It was weird that some boabs were in full leaf and others were leafless. They all seem to have their individual personalities anyway :) :)
