I was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario where I have lived all my life. I was adopted at the age of 3 months by my parents, who immigrated from Amsterdam, Holland over 50 years ago.

I have raised three children who are all young adults now, and have since found more time to concentrate on my PASSION...painting!

I have been captivated, mesmerized & bewildered by art and photography for as long as I can remember…I am a self-taught artist who is continuously learning and aspiring to be better at my craft as each day passes.

I truly believe that artists, poets, photographers, writers, musicians & singers are all wonderfully, tortured souls to some degree or another & that there are messages for the world to read, hear or see in all of our creations. There has to be purpose and meaning in all that we do. I believe this wholeheartedly, otherwise why would we all be so drawn to what we love so deeply, and what we desire to share with the world?!?

Art teaches us to look at ourselves & with others (not at) and I also believe that we can be the best that we can be if we follow our passions. I believe we should always keep our eyes, our hearts and our minds open because one never knows what you may see, feel or learn, and in turn, this wonderful knowledge can be passed onto someone else. I want to make people think. I would like for others to think of art as a very well thought-out, creative process with the client in the forefront of my mind, but most of all …I want to make others happy with what they choose from my gallery or commission from me!

I found my way to acrylic painting several years back because my father saw something creative in me that I did not recognize in myself. He encouraged me to paint. It didn’t matter what I painted or what medium I used or if it made sense to anyone else, as long as I put the brush to the paint and then onto the canvas.

It is because of my parents that I have been lucky enough to have found this drug that does not make me high, this drink that does not allow me to get intoxicated & this vice that will only perpetuate stability, happiness, peace of mind & serenity! I am ecstatic every moment I am fortunate to use my imagination, my dreams, my passion, creativity & inspiration to invent a new piece! Painting is the greatest high I have ever experienced!

I will be eternally grateful to my parents for believing in me, their consistent support & never-ending encouragement! As well, I am forever indebted to my children, family members & wonderful friends for all they have brought to my journey thus far…I believe I am extremely fortunate & truly blessed to be able to follow my true passion in life!
