Oh Stephanie, Ben and I are both in awe of your art. He would like to make his own response to you as well. This reminds us both of Ben in fact, the ideas all swirling around… your words
transformational prophetic innocence ……brilliant and unafraid…full of vision and heart minus the judge are so very beautiful, they create a picture all by themselves. What a beautiful thing you’ve done by linking your beautiful world with ours! thank you for making our day :)

    Very evocative!
I meet an artist in Buenos Aires a few years ago…...........ummm….... Liber Fridman was his name, and your work reminds me so much of his mystical soul-boat-people images and collages.
Very powerful stuff here Stephanie! X

  • stephanie clifton replied

i will have to check him out. i am curious. thanks avalyn….real name? i appreciate the noticing….the attention to detail i don’t think some people see past the childlike part. i don’t even know what my work is about since it just comes and the point is not to question or get in the way…..if you know what i mean.

Truly magical & inspirational Stephanie. Do you illustrate childrens books? If you don’t, then you need to start immediately. Your work would be so enchanting for those beautiful hungry young minds. This painting says ” YOU CAN DO ANYTHING”
    BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

  • stephanie clifton replied

thanks for your response and support, shane! people always ask me, do i?.....and i don’t….not because i don’t want to but because it hasn’t come to me. how to find the work, i am unsure? any clues are very welcome. i want work tremendously! a lot of us do, i imagine. big aloha. i really enjoyed your work…photos, paintings and the latest done on computer, no?

The orchid Mandalas were done on the computer, but my latest stuff has been done with more traditional mediums like Oils & Acrylics. With the childrens books, just start writing some simple little stories yourself, or maybe collaborate with someone on RB, or maybe you know a writer. Put together a nice Mock up and talk to some publishers. Possibly self publish?? I know it takes money, but if you don’t have the resourses, talk to people who have, and pitch the idea around. Once they see your art they will get the message. Good Luck!

  • stephanie clifton replied

you are very sweet and i like your advice. you make it sound easy. not so for me! i am proud of myself because today i went to borders books and left a card and note. thought the portraits would look good in a bookstore. they are little stories. there are so many aspects of the self promotion job and i am not a natural born business woman. by any means. if fact i would prefer to be in the studio….. relaxed on a daily basis.

yes, collaboration could be fun. you got me thinking so “mahalo” as they say here in maui. thank you..

looking forward to seeing more of your new and ever growing body of work.

    aloha!

Hey Steph, you’re very welcome. I know what you mean….. I should take my own advice and do more with my work as well. I have gotten back into airbrushing surfboards for a local company and friend of mine, just doing special custom orders for customers who are prepared to pay. I did it when I was younger, when I was living in Huntington Beach, but when the WHITE board revolution came, no one wanted murals anymore, so that’s how I got into photography as a career.
    Aloha Stephanie
