These are MIA bracelets! I wore one of these bracelets for years. It was for my Daughter Micki’s Godfather who was MIA in 1967in Vietnam. Never got to give it back to him.
bracelets, mia, pow, vietnam, war
I wore one for years as well. I remember distinctly the day I visited the Vietnam Memorial wall in DC…I look in the directory to find the panel number that his name could be located on…it was one of the bigger panels…I thought there would be no way for me to find him among all of those names, but do you know that when I stood in front of that panel, his was the ONLY name I saw? I still get goose bumps just thinking of it. Amazing. Thanks for the memory, Ciana!
I too did that at the memorial in DC Micki was with me when we did it. They again did it with traveling one and Corbin was the one in the picture with the name.
wow, how sad…
i did not realize how many did wear these bracelets! Micki grew up knowing I was wearing it and why.
I’m glad you posted your picture mom
It is a good one!
I played with it with the picasa nothing looked as good as the original one. Thanks for looking.
I am a lost for words.
Barbara I am so sorry I missed your comment, sometimes I get behind.
Wow, you never know when you are going to find an answer. I was watching the debate last night and noticed McCain had one of these on. Had no idea why and then saw this today!
McCain was a POW and he is probably wearing one of his friends. My friends remains were found and he was declared dead. That is only reason I am now wearing one now.
I’m terribly sorry to hear that. : (
Icesrun, wow…I wish many many more would realzie the power and message of the photo…awesome and very very moving work
Bill I have many look at this picture but very few comments. I wish I had better pictures of it from the museum there in Pensacola. Our family was touched with many many of these bracelets as we lost so many friends.
Thank you as you have read, I am sure, these were special to our family and friends. My Daughter still has her Godfathers. Thank you for looking.
This is really really moving. Love this image.
Thank you!! It was very important to me to see them, I wore one for many years, Micki now has that one for her Godfather who lost his life.
