Moon Eclipse

Nando MacHado

Moon Eclipse

Something completely non-artistic… however, it’s a nice image (digitally enhanced, of course). I’ll probably take it down after a few days, depending on its popularity. I guess I just wanted to share the moment.

This eclipse happened on February 20th-21st, 2008, shot in Brazil

**Edit: This image is staying due to its surprising popularity! :)

I think this has a perfect art form – the composition, lighting; everything counts.

I took shots of the eclipse from North America, with my brand new digital. I got some decent shots, but your idea of stacking them this way is very artistic and I think you should leave it here…

  • Nando MacHado replied

Thanx Lavender. I bracketed all shots to make sure I got it right, and some of them are stacked in layers for maximum detail (mostly overlaying the + and – over the 0 exposure).
Sure I’ll leave it there. This image proved to be quite popular, to my surprise :) Thank you for your comment.

That layout is masterful. I’m such a novice, a few of your more technical descriptions went right over my pointy little head, but I have every plan to add you to my watchlist. I just need to learn how to navigate around this site a bit better.

Hi Mia. I took this image in Porto Alegre, capital of the Southern most state in Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul). Thank you for your comment.

That is awesome and I have heard of rio Grande do Sul. I lived in Brasil for 3 1/2 yrs. The name of the town was Aracaju. Thousand miles away for Salvador.
