Artist's Description

It is an amazing thing to live near an ocean and be able to visit it every weekend if you choose. These are wonders I have not known in my childhood – only as an adult. They are still very beautiful, wonderful and mysterious. This is a pattern the waves left behind as they receded into the ocean, leaving the drifting tree to rest in the soft sand. The beach is one of the few places where all the traces of my own footprints will truly be erased. After an hour or two, you would never know I was there. It’s like we become invisible. And then our prints appear in the sand again. What do you see in these patterns? What fond memories do you have of the coast or a local beach? I love how the coastline changes, every day, every year and yet, it always remains the coast. Head out today, let your lungs be filled with sea air and feast your eyes on all the sights available to you at the coast.

Taken at: Florence, Oregon
During: Autumn (October)
Using: Canon PowerShotSX110 IS
*Straight from the camera!
