The symbol of love, a tradition of old, this velvety red rose seems to encompass everything we love about roses. The soft petals, the shape of the bloom, to deep color and the sweet fragrance. I wonder, what is your favorite kind or color of rose? What is it about that flower that you enjoy so much? What does it mean to you? Everything should have meaning – every image, every action, everything we do or say or touch or react to should and does have meaning. The question is, do you know why? It is a simple question that has a complex answer. The more we can explain why, the better we live our lives. Me? I love roses because of their scent, and because they remind me of my dad. He loves gardening and I used to help him in the garden when I was a child. I enjoy the color I have come to call “Amber Mist of Dawn”, because of an old nickname and a special song, shared by a very special friend years ago. That color comes close in my other piece – “Dreams Within”. But that’s just me, and I have many other favorite flowers and colors and scents. Think about that – what is it you love so much about flowers? Hopefully, it will make your day brighter :)
