Taken from the footbridge on the Teesdale Way trail over the River Greta, looking along the Devil’s Gorge, tricky exposure as the Gorge is in shadow one side and catching the light on the other. It’s a beautiful peaceful resting place.
Location: River Greta, Teesdale, North Yorkshire side of the River Tees, North East England.

Whatever precautions you take so the photograph will look like this or that, there comes a moment when the photograph surprises you. It is the other’s gaze that wins out and decides.

Book Recommendation: Photographic Composition, A Visual Guide: Richard D Zakia and David A. Page…..very useful as it has much to do with the mental processes, with which we use to see and visualise before the shutter is pressed.
