I have always loved Sea urchins and have always collected them from when i was a child right up into adulthood. They would be the first thing I would look for when I got out of my car and my feet hit the sand on the beach. Suprisingly there arent that many to be found anymore on the beach where I have always gone to find them.

    I love these shells, use to find them everywhere when you walked along the beach at shoreham but now your lucky too find one.

    the collection I have made has been years of collecting, the beach where i use to go to find them doesnt seem to have anymore these days. It so disappointing walking along the beach and not even finding one.

    the other day i was walking around the seafood section of coles supermarket in Ivanhoe and they were selling the sea urchins with the creature inside they made me rather sad to think that people would eat a create that creates such a wonderful shell. I use to walk along the beach until i found the empty shells.

    alot of the photos especially the ones at the front that can only be sold as cards were taken just after I became divorced from my x husband who i had been with for 11 years. I shot 36 rolls of film and then went out and got them all developed at once, I think it was a healing thing.
