Ship Rock falls, Kurth Kiln State Park, Gembrook, Victoria, Australia

Ship Rock falls hmmmm Absaling, pot holing caves, granite, ghost gums, water falls and moss.

The local council has built a viewing platform and fenced the falls off now which is a shame, they are dangerous but if you are careful they are so much fun to climb over.

Its a great place to climb and photograph not far from gembrook a little further along in the other direction is the Yarra valley.

an old capture of a wonderful place …
    no bridge there now

  • Karin Mai replied

    Thanks Wendy,

Yeah funny about the bridge, I wonder whether it was cut down (by the council, as I know that childern that build cubbies on the floor of the forest at a Park In Emerald have their cubbies destroyed by rangers) or whether it broke naturally. Probably a good thing that its not there any more.
I wonder whether they fenced the area off and placed platform viewing up, has anything to do with someone hurting themselves down there and the council being sued?
