I’m pretty sure there’s a smile behind that piece of cloth, the eyes say so……. I think I did the “right thing” by first asking the huband (owner of a small corner cafe) if I may take a photo of his wife. At first he was a bit reluctant, she seemed eager though, as it goes against their belief system. A little begging and the assurance that I am from no " institution" or “agency” and the proof was anyhow in my very plain and “disfunctional” camera, he agreed to me taking a picture I have always aspired to – The mysterious, yet, controversial burka and the woman/eyes behind it.
It means a lot to me because I’m a woman because in France, we have many discussions about that because I respect people because I “feel” women life
Thanks for all your comments and interesting observations. I did ask this ladies’ husband first if I could take his wife’s picture. After a lot of persuation he eventually agreed. (It is against their belief, I guess.) The lady, however was so eager about, one can even see the joy of the experience in her eyes. Guess it was MY lucky day !!
A wonderful image and you are right, the eyes say so much. perhaps though, as you had to discuss/a little begging you were taking the picture with no agenda, it should not be for sale?
Thanks for the visit and observations. You are quite right about the sale thing (They are sort of automatically loaded when the photo is a certain size, so I didn’t even check it.) I have corrected it, so thanks for pointing it out !!

Fantastic capture! A very moving glance you caught.
So often we see the burka, not the person. It is good to see the woman here, her eyes full of expression, and not just some political statement.
Thank you so much, I’m over the moon with the way her eyes came out all bright and happy, because that is how I experienced her.

This picture is so worthy of the Feature, and more besides. BRAVO!

If the eyes are the mirror of the soul, this woman has a beautiful one. Wonderful photograph.
thank you, couldn’t agree more, her presence went beyond the burka !!
