While driving from Melbourne to Ballarat with my beautiful girlfriend Louise (a great photographer in her own right), this amazing electrical storm took form across the farmlands. Wanting to get to Ballarat and chill out I was umming and ahhing about pulling over until Lousie convinced me to take a few shots. I pulled off the freeway and drove for a bit up a country road until I found a good spot with an open view. We climbed up a small hill and set up the camera taking a number of shots.
This image was constructed in Photoshop from four separate exposures to combine four different bolts of lightning into the one image.
Finally the combination of being lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time and having learned the required skills (after many, many failures), and having the right company pushing me along (thanks baby), I think I achieved capturing and creating something special.
