Pern series, the story of this work goes thusly…

*Weyrleader’s statement: Pilarth rose one
week ago after blooding twelve bucks; quite
a record! We nearly despaired of her getting
aloft, so much had she drunk and so quickly.

She was flown by bronze Limanth after a
chase of nearly a full hour…flight lasted
only 4 minutes; but you can see by the
Masterhealer’s records scan what a clutch
is to be laid. Scan is a view of the interior of
Pilarth’s left ovary, showing the current state
of clutch development. If it is matched by the
right one…need I say more?*

(All dragon’s names are my own creations and
none are contained in any of the Dragonriders
of Pern books to my best knowledge.)
