I am a FireFighter/Paramedic in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I have been working in emergency services now since 1990. Between work and home life, I keep pretty busy.
I am still getting started in the photography hobby. I don’t have a lot of free time to get out and just shoot. But now that all 3 kids are in school I can find more time for my hobby. I do try keep my camera with me so if I see something I want to capture, I won’t miss the opportunity. I am trying to get out more because I love photography and I like to think I have a keen eye for that special angle or detail shot.
I found my way to RedBubble in 2008 through a friend over in DPF. I’m really enjoyed my time here and I loved all of the creative ways one can express their artistic nature here. But I kinda fell off away from the website and the hobby but now I’m back and I think this will be a long and happy relationship here.
As for my equipment… I use an Olympus E-5 and an Olympus Evolt E-500 DSLR. Right now I carry three different lenses; a 14-42mm that I have dedicated to my E-500 for Macro shooting, and a 40-150mm and 60-300mm that I use with the E-5. I also use a 50-500mm telephoto lens and I use an Olympus FL-36 External Flash. I just started using the Olympus in 2007 as I have graduated from the easy “point-and-shoot” cameras. My last camera that I used was a Minolta DiMage Z6 that I gave to my wife to use. I also used a Fuji FinePix 3800 which I still keep handy and occasionally give to my son for him to use.
I am by no means a professional and any comments, tips, or suggestions you can pass along would be greatly appreciated. So feel free to look through my portfolio and enjoy. Thanks!
