Theater of Opera and Ballet
Construction of the Lvov Opera House began in 1897 and lasted three years. The project construction was the work of famous Polish architect Zygmunt Gorgolewski. The theater, generously decorated as inside and outside, became the centerfold of the achievements of sculpture and painting of the Western Europe of the end of XIX century.
The Lvov Theatre of Opera and Ballet was built in the classical tradition with using forms and details of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, also known as the Viennese neo-Renaissance style.
