"Down in the Spout" by Husky

I shot this a couple of weeks ago in the very early morning, after I attached my rope to a tree and climbed down into the “spout” and waited for the sun to poke its head thru the background. Have some better shots (I think) but the ammount of water pumping down was double than the week before when I didnt have any rope, and the lens kept getting splashed.

The Liffey Falls State Reserve was included within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area in 1989,(Aust) a tribute to the globally significant value of the region. The area reveals a rich human heritage and insights into the forces which shaped the landscape over the past 250 million years.
The picnic area lies within the Liffey Forest Reserve, which is managed by Forestry Tasmania. A short way along the walking track to Liffey Falls you cross into the State Reserve, which is managed by the Parks and Wildlife Service

I’m a self taught photographer and shift worker, living in the beautiful state of Tasmania. I concentrate mostly on capturing “silky” water shots via long exposures but also dabble in other area’s.

Wow the water looks like fairy floss and the ferns and trees look like something out of Jurassic Park! Love the water trickling down the rocks to the left of frame too…..!
I remember seeing massive ferns at Russell Falls? Was a while ago, so could be mistaken, but there were huge trees there too. Gave the snapshots back from the honeymoon when I left the ex :) Will have to re-visit in better circumstances one day LOL!

  • Thanks Trace!! Its very difficult to photograph here cas of the changing light in a long exp, but a gorgeous place!
