THE MAGUS REQUIRES AN APPRENTICE

Just once in a decade is there a new apprentice accepted on this mysterious island.
So mysterious in fact, that even to have heard about the island at all, would have required many decades of diligent study and a formidable innate talent.
But hearing the slightest, whisper of a rumour of its existence would not gain you admittance.
. . .
However, if you are one of the very, very few, then you might hear it.
You might hear the call.
. . .
Every ten years, it goes out.
. . .
THE MAGUS REQUIRES AN APPRENTICE
. . .
Only once is the call made.
Five words.
Uttered once.
And on a frequency of the mind, only the very few can hear.
. . .
If, you do indeed hear the call, your first assignment as an apprentice begins.
Trace the source of the psychic call and determine its location in both time and space.
. . .
The second assignment.
Let me put it this way, there is not much point in knowing the location of somewhere if you do not posess the wherewithall to get there.
The journey to the Mage’s island will test your every skill, physical, mental and magical, for it is is both arduous and psychically treacherous . . .
. . .
When finally you reach the island, as a matter of long standing tradition, the graduating apprentice will be there to meet you.
From him, you will receive your first lesson.
In that, what you know not.
. . .
If you manage to survive that ordeal.
You will finally meet The Magus.
And ten of the hardest years of your life, begin.
. . ..
Each and every day, The Magus will test you.
Test you to beyond your limits, even unto death itself.
Then, at the closing of each day, resurrecting, reviving and restoring you to full physical and mental health. Leaving you, with but a few brief hours, to contemplate your failures before the new day begins.
. . .
Until the day of the 10th anniversary of your arrival.
On that day, you are either able, at last, to stand up to the daily onslaught, or you die. The Magus will not revive and restore you, on this, your last day.
. . .
But be of good cheer.
The Magus has only lost just one apprentice in the last 2,000 years.
And you have to pity that decades new apprentice, for it was The Magus himself that met him, on his arrival at the island.
. . .
Good luck . . .
. . .

Project Description
This is a Vue creation and render. The Mage’s Tower, the Temple and the Amphitheatre were each constructed from Vue primatives and were saved individually as objects. I then worked on the terrain and positioned my pre built objects in the scene. Incidental lighting comes from lights within the various structures . . .
The image was completed with some post-work in Photoshop, primarily a little fog and some glow for the lights . . .
Thank you for viewing . . .
